Quttinirpaaq National Park – Nunavut This Park is quite literally on top of the world. Visitors here number in dozens annually, and some years not even that many make the trip. It is remote and beautiful. However, even in this pristine surrounding you can find the ugly footprint of humans. Bases for arctic exploration are littered with garbage, some of it toxic. The effects of climate change are felt in the melting polar cap and the 20 degree heat. Where can I camp at a very low price in Craigleith Provincial Park, Ontario?

I am looking online for prices and it seems a little high… I am better off boon docking at these rates (30-40$ a night) lol. I am on a tight budget, just finished school and bought an old camper van to do some long term camping (months). It would be nice to pay a decent amount for parking so Id feel a little safer but if there is nothing I might consider dry camping on the road … thanks in advance :)

They are also using the ranchers that sold their estates back to the Park as rangers. It’s a unique treatment but it needs to work. Wapusk National Park – Manitoba One of the world’s largest polar bear denning sites, Wapusk means “white bear” in the native Cree language. The park is a unique ecological zone bordering the arctic, hosting both tundra and coastal marine environments. This landscape provides habitat for over 250 species of birds as well as hyper-abundant snow geese colonies. Though wildlife seems to be growing, this evolution must be monitored. Ranging in altitude from 367 m (Koranski most) to 1279 m (Seliški vrh) above sea level. The park was inscribed on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 1979, in recognition of its “outstanding natural beauty and undisturbed production of travertine (tufa) through chemical and biological action”. The park represents a phenomenon of karst hydrography. The park harbours a grand collection of waterfalls, gallery of lakes, forest and diversity of animal life. The lakes are renowned for their distinctive colors, ranging from azure to green, grey or blue. The colors change constantly depending on the quantity of minerals or organisms in the water and the angle of sunlight. The sixteen lakes which are formed by natural dams of travertine are separated into upper and lower lakes. About eight km of pathways and wooden walking trails around lakes are accessible to visitors. Trails are descending from an altitude of 636m to 503m above sea level. The desire to preserve what hasn’t been cut has also damaged the forest.
