A San Antonio pastor and an employee of his Christian boot camp were arrested Friday on aggravated assault charges, accused of dragging a girl behind a van after she failed to keep up during a running exercise.
Investigators with the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office arrested Charles E. Flowers, 46, shortly before noon at the Faith Outreach Center in northwest San Antonio, said Brad E. Bailey, a spokesman for the Schertz Police Department.
Bailey said boot camp trainer Stephanie Bassitt, 20, was later arrested without incident at her home in Kirby.

Girl alleges second assault
Authorities said both Flowers and Bassitt restrained the girl June 12, tying her to the back of a van with a piece of rope before dragging her on her stomach at the Love Demonstrated Ministries’ boot camp in Banquete, about 10 miles west of Corpus Christi.

It would be wrong to take this incident as a blanket indictment of Christians. This was the actions of one (possibly two) sick individuals.

This is a reflection of extremely corrupt people, hiding behind the guise of ‘Christianity.’ There are so many people like this, it would seem to reflect the mainstream, but most Christians are not like this. It’s the ones who are like this, who have given Christianity a bad name since its beginning. It’s the same with any religion- there are always extreme idiots in any movement but usually, they don’t reflect the majority of followers.

I think some of these Christian camps go too far…they sound like a couple of power trippers to me.

The camp “commandant” must be a graduate of “St Norbert’s Evangelical Commando Academy of Guerilla Love tactics”.

That is far from a true picture of a Christian heart. They are criminals using God’s name for profit and to get away with abusing children. Jesus speaks of people like this and these sins will be taken care of by God.

Friend for every one True Christian you have, you will have 10 bad so Called Christian, Of course this causes a bad taste in the atheists & unbelievers mouths, But believe me There are very true Christians out there, One thing you mentioned is this person is only 20, therefore she/he don’t have very much experince of how to conduct theirselves, I am 57 yrs old & I have served God for over 37 yrs. I have learned a little in my 37 yrs. walk with God. Too many young Christian thinks they can get save today & tell the world how to live tomorrow, that is not wisdom, They need to wait & grow in God, Because they will be met with every demonic spirit there is, & they need to be ready, Just think every demonic spirit I have to deal with in my 37 yrs as a Christian, But God gave me the wisdom when to talk & when to keep quite, And God has never failed me One time in my 37 yrs.

I wouldn’t call it a reflection of christianity in general, but incidents like these, which have happened for centuries, certainly cast at least some doubt, in my mind, on the claim that religion and only religion can give you morality.

Well of course this is a negative. But then persons who really read the bible unlike these type of so called christian churches or organizations are what the bible calls Babylon the Great. Their mis-use of bible teachings will be put to an end in the near future.

to me that does’n have any thing to do with been a christian; these are some cover up peopl ewho hide under christianity to do un-godly things and for those people there is a great judgement day. so for right know things like this will continue to happens until christ return.

Alright, you saw a story on the news. Whats next, every bad person who has done something bad is going to be asked what church they go to? what religion are they? And then we are going to get a reflection question? There are bad Christians, there are bad atheists. there are bad Muslims, It can go on and on but surely you get the point? Every where I look you have a sugar coated question about your stand on religion. We know your not a christian, we got it, ok? This is the one topic that keeps us all riled up, Are you enjoying yourself? I will reflect on all the wickedness in our world.

  18. 18 Kaldea said at 10:55 pm on January 25th, 2012:

This is so horrible that if it hadn’t been going on in other places, not just a Christian outreach center, I would have thought someone was making it up! Trouble is, others are doing it as well! I blame it on reality TV and the decline of morals in general!
