Hello there.
My husband and I were trying to figure out a great family vacation during the kid’s spring break from school. Spring break is from March 29-April 2. The kids ages are 16 and 17, so we want to do something that will keep them from being bored, as you know how easily teenagers get bored now-a-days!
here’s the problems that occurred:
1) I have to work on Monday the 29. (can’t get it off!)
2) We want to be home by Easter Sunday (to go to church).
3) we are on a budget.
Since our family loves to camp and we love Disney World. We have 5-day Disney hoppers (no expiration), we decided it would be fun to go camping at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lodge! We have been to the Disney parks several times before, so we know the drill of everything and how tired we will be! We haven’t however, been to Disney Quest or Blizzard Beach in many years, so my husband will be paying for tickets for us to enjoy those activities once again.
Here is our itinerary for the week: I know it is a very busy schedule, but we will be able to sleep in (and relax) on Easter Sunday before and after church. Please tell me your opinion and how it should be better arranged. Also, please do not list other restaurant options. We as a family agreed upon these restaurants as our favorites- or ones we would like to visit together.
I would like more rest time or “camping” time to spend just on the campsite and not just be there to sleep. If anyone know of a way to arrange this schedule to fit everything in and still have a day of “camping” PLEASE let me know. I would be very much grateful. Thank you in advance!

We are intending to fly to New Zealand in November but afraid it will be too costly. We would like to buy a van (for 2 people) sleep in camps and cook our food. How much should cost a month in New Zealand?
What should be the best and cheapest way to travel there?
Thanks

Last night I had a dream that I was in a big van traveling somewhere with my immediate family and my uncle and cousins.
I was sitting in the backseat with my cousins and one of them was missing. I was attracted to one of my cousins that was
missing and didn’t want my uncle to find out. I was talking about it with my other cousins. Then our family’s desided to slit up.
They rented a mini bus then later down the road desided to just rent van instead. We rented a van but it wasn’t actually a van.
Then van-like vehicle had to be peddled and my family walked along side the van while I peddled. I remember how tiring it was to
peddled the van I remember saying. “it would be easier to just walk”. So we stroll up to this campground area and obviously I
realize we’re going camping. I stop to use the washroom. Im I tell my mother and brother that ill be right back. I go to go inside
of a bathroom and I see that its the womens then I go over to the mens bathroom and two women call me in to fix the hand-dryer.
I ended up fixing It to there udder amazement but not before one of them threated that if I didn’t fix it that it would be
my fault that it was broken. so I continue to a stall and I see the bathroom is filled with beautiful women. If I can remember
correctly there was about 9 of them. All of them very high-maintenance, paris hilton valley girls who I never go after in real life.
I walk past them thinking wtf.. Then I walk into a stall. The toilet was filled with sh*t and toilet paper.. I dont mean it had some
in it I mean from a ants perspective it would be mount everest. The wall of the stall on the right side was gone. I noticed there was
no sh*t in the toilet next to me but there was a man in the stall after that so I thought it would be awkward so I decided to use the
one I was in. I tried to avoid any eye contact with the man while glancing over to see if he was looking. When I got back to my mother
and brother my brother was wearing a pin stripped suit with a hat that matched. He looked like a old mafia boss. When I walked over
and stood next to them Jack Nicholson and about 7 henchmen appeared dressed the same way as my brother but in different colors.
They we’re after my mother. One of the henchmen walked over to the right of me so that we were surrounded between them and the bathroom wall.
They were about 20 feet away. I stood up to defend my mother. Jack Nicholson and the henchmen to my right began to float. They then proceeded
to cast spells at me. Shooting them at me. I somehow had a energy that would stop the sells from hitting me. I felt weak in this energy
I asked God aid me. I then woke up.

My 7 friends and I are going on a camping trip, but none of us have access to a car. We’ve looked into renting a coach and a school bus, both of which are too expensive. We also looked into renting a van/car, but you need to be 23 to rent a vehicle, and we are all 18. Our parents all refuse to drive 2.5 hours to simply drop us off.
Does anyone know of a possible solution to this problem?
I live in Toronto, btw.

Hello thanks for coming by this question. I really need to know a few things. I will try to keep my questions organized as possible. I have a 2008 dodge grand caravan swivel n go with the 4.0 liter (I don’t know if you need this info or not, but I thought I would put it in here anyway.)
Q1. Can I tow a camping trailer that is 26feet in length and weighs about 7500lbs with my grand caravan? (that is with all the luggage and everything in it.)
Q2. If I can tow that, will I be risking ruining something in my van?
I think those are my questions for now, now below what I am typing, I need your opinions.
1. Would you get a $10,900.00 camping trailer? (assuming I can tow it with my grand caravan)
2. Should I get the $10,900.00 camping trailer and buy a 1999 Ford F-150 for $4,000.00? (this option is if I can’t tow with my grand caravan.)
3. Should I get a 2007 dodge ram 3500 that comes with a fifth wheel camper for $38,000.00?
More things: Sorry this is a long question, but what is the best deal/what do you think I should do? If I can tow with my van, I for sure will get just the trailer. If I can’t tow with my van, I don’t know what the better deal is between the ford and the trailer or the dodge that comes with a trailer.
CLOSING: Thanks so much for those of you who have read all of this, I’m just really unsure. I would love some nice answers that will help me, maybe some more information that you guys would suggest that I should know, and links to things that might help me would be amazing. I will add details if I need to/think of anything else.
Oh and by the way, my van, the ford pickup, and the dodge ram pickup all have automatic transmissions if that matters. Thank you!
I am also looking and trying to keep all expenses under $20,000.00, but if the dodge ram and camping trailer is a good deal, I can make exceptions for that.
One answer asked how far I plan on traveling. Well, the trip I have planned for this summer is about from Illinois to South Dakota and back. And yes, I kind of thought that the dodge 3500 combo would be the best choice, but I would like to stay cheaper if I can help it. Thank you both for answering!

My wife has family that lives in Chicago and more family that lives in North Carolina….they almost always stop at our house as it is about half way between the two branches of the family…..I am good with that even though we have a small house. (and have been good with it for 36 years………)
very soon we will be starting an addition on our house…it is a very complicated construction project.
It is time of the year to go back to NC for the Decoration Day….their family always has a reunion and decorate the graves at the family cemetery….. The problem is my wife told them they could stay here….even though we had discussed this and I told her there was no where for them to sleep…all of our furniture is on the second floor as the first floor will be gutted and all of the finished flooring and plaster will be gone…the bathroom on the first floor will not be operational, the kitchen will be gone….her nephew called last night and as she was talking to him I was telling her there was no where to put them she told him that we would find a place to put an air mattress……there is no place….we got into a heated discussion about the situation…..we ended up at if she doesn’t call them and tell them we can’t bed them down here I am calling the contractor and canceling the job….I retired from construction and I know what kind of mess it is going to be…she works in a hospital as a respiratory therapist she doesn’t understand construction….
I told her I will be doing good just to get the work done that I am going to do on this project much less having to sort this place out so the in laws have a place to sleep….when we go to NC we go to a motel or camp out in our van…….. I like for her family to visit but this is the wrong time and she is making it out like I am being mean……..
We will be making the trip down to NC for Decoration but we are taking a dome tent and going to sleep in it….when you have 20-30 people converge on three small houses down there sleeping space is at a premium….I got lucky one year and snagged a recliner……..
These folks are not poor…cheap maybe but not poor…the brother in law is 3rd or 4th from the top of a big steel mill and the nephew is in charge of mixing fuel for BP….both make well over $150K a yr.
it is a 12 hour drive and it is like they can’t drive straight through…we drove to NM (2200 miles)four times one year to visit daughter and grandchildren. The only time we didn’t drive straight through was when we were taking three of the boys home…the rest of the time we took turns and drove…
Kaia, no we discussed it several weeks ago as we were dismantling our bedroom set and moving it up stairs…she was trying to make room for a mattress to be put on the floor when her sister came through…we have 1/2 house of furniture in storage for my daughter who is overseas…we have our things up there now as that is where we are living until the construction is done…..after much discussion it was decided by the both of us that there was, “no room in the inn”. But we didn’t discuss the nephew…..there are no options for me…I don’t have to put these people up in a cheap hotel, tent or anywhere else….they are much more financially secure than I am….the pay cash for new vehicles and visit the gambling boat 3-5 times a week….I can tell by the types of comps she gets what kind of money they are dropping at the boat…….they are cheap and inconsiderate…they will never tell you when they are arriving just the date……

I grew up dirt poor. I am 40 now. As kids, we had no indoor OR outdoor toilet; went in the woods. We had no electricity. We had no food or health care. I remember picking blackberries for the younger kids to eat and trying to cook flat bread (flour and water) over an open fire so we wouldn’t starve. We planted a garden and did without meat, juice, eggs, butter, etc. There were 5 of us kids, and we lived in a 2-bedroom single-wide trailer for years, a pull-behind camper for 8 weeks, a camping tent for 6 weeks and even in our van in front of our school for 3 days due to homelessness because my step father had epilepsy which prevented him from keeping steady employment. My real father was in prison. There was no welfare for us because my real father had too much money; however, he was in prison and could not help us. We had a wood stove for heat, but it leaked, so we had to leave the door open to let out the smoke. Our bathroom floor when we had one had an inch of ice on the floor in the winter. When we didn’t have a bathroom, we heated water in a huge pot outside and stood in it and just sort of sponged off. We actually did walk several miles to school in snow, etc., because we didn’t have a car (not uphill both ways, though, haha). I’m proud of the fact that we actually survived and all have risen above and become pretty successful in life and that not a single one of us 5 kids have ever been in any kind of trouble with the law or commited any crimes. So I think that criminals who just happen to also be poor just use poverty as an excuse to get a lighter sentence and to get people to feel sorry for them. What do you think?
Awesome responses; thanks!!
