I have steak knives and butcher knives and butter knives, just your normal kitchen stuff. These things are in my motorhome. Does this mean if I’m at a campground in Canada and decide to barbeque steaks, I have to pull them apart with my hands?
Heard you couldn’t take knives across the boarder into Canada?

My husband and I are retired and have been for three years now. We enjoy traveling in our RV. This is a great way to see America. I mean you really see America this way and not just through a windshield traveling down the interstate highway system. By staying in RV parks, you get to know the people of America. This is a terrific way to meet new friends and view the different lifestyles of folks across the country. We have met the most interesting people that we have ever met in our travels since we have been retired than we ever did working nine to five jobs.
We were staying in a California RV park, some two thousand miles from home, when met a couple that lived just a mile or so down the road from us. Imagine the surprise when we learned that we were camping with our neighbors that we had never met in all of the years that we lived so close by. It took a two thousand mile trip for us to meet. We became very good friends and now we even travel together occasionally.
We have stayed in several RV parks in Branson Missouri. On one such occasion we happened to meet my husband’s cousin whom he hadn’t seen in twenty years or so. We had a great time reminiscing and catching up on our families. Their children are grown and we found out that their son and our son works for the same company.
About a year ago while staying at a Biloxi RV park, we met a very nice couple from Nashville, Tennessee. We have visited them since and they took us to the Grand Ole Opry. They also showed us some very interesting sites in the Nashville area that we did not know existed. It was a wonderful vacation and we got to see things that only a local resident would know about.
We now have many new friends that we have met in RV parks. Several of them visit us at our home, and many of them whom we stay in touch with meet us at a particular park somewhere. We have had so much fun travel throughout the United States and actually meeting the people of this great country.
Tsavo East is one of the arguably exciting of the Kenya’s national parks, it is today’s the showcase of what the good management can do. The park has around 11,000 elephants today. Much of the park is accessible by road. It’s also the area where the black rhinos are. The park is vibrant green and red that famous red of Tsavo that gives its co lour to famous red elephant found here. In the park, you can see the “Big Tusker” with its big tusk reaching the ground such that he has to walk with his head held high. The red “Big Tusker”, usually strolls through the plains to the waterhole where the herd of elephants drinks. He gambols in it then chases the young male elephants out of the territory. Tsavo East is the only park that saw its fortunes fall as the park got swept in the tide of poaching, but currently things are upswing. The lodge is built on the escarpment overlooking the plains of Tsavo and the Yatta plateau. It’s in the process of being modernized to suit today’s clientèle. Also at the park, you can see waterholes teem with life in the course of two days at the lodge, you can see elephants surrounding you – from everywhere –at breakfast, lunch, dinner or in the floodlit plains in the middle of the night. The rising sun spreads its sheen of co lour in the sky and lion’s roar carriers through the plains. Lioness sit at the waterhole watching the sun rising. Lioness rises its trunk sniffing the air, as it gets closer then confronting the massive animal land walks away Watching thick chocolate – coloured water from the Athi and Tsavo mixing together not far way into Galana / Sabaki .
Some of the best tourist lodges at Tsavo East are
voi Safari Lodeg: It is one of the most beautifully designed lodges and popular wildlife lodges in Kenya. Being in total harmony with its setting and cut into the legd of a craggy cliff above a waterhole, with magnificent panaormas over the savannay. the waterhole is also regulary visited by large herds o f plains game and elephants. The facilities include a wide selection of rooms all with views of the waterhole, restaurant,, swimiing pool and air strip.(kws,2003).
Galdessa Safari Camp: is a luxury lodge that has an inclination to eco-tourism and offers a selection of eight thatched-roofed ‘Bandas’ two of which are suites. Facilities and features include a restaurant, bar, gift shop and a wide array of walking safaris.
Satao Camp is another luxury 20 tent camp built in a half circle around a waterhole also visited by elephants and occasionally by lions and a selection of game it has a diverse platform for nature walks . It is approximately 45 kilometers form both Buchuma and Voi gates(kws,2003)
Tsavo is also known as the land of the Baobab because the huge trees grow in such numbers in this region. They seem to thrive in the climatic conditions of Tsavo and one of the longest living trees. They can grow upto 20 meters high and 5 meters in diameter. According to an African legend the Baobab was cursed by the maker as it once used to hold water in its trunk but since it was selfish and would not sahre the water with other creatures during the dry season it was forced to live upside down.
Some of the special campsites in Tsavo East include Durusirkale, Itumba, Makoka and Ndiandasa
Therefore its good to have an adventure to Tsavo park and enjoy the Kenya’s wildlife.
Only a visit to these parks, campsites and lodges can ensure that you expereince nature in its true sense.

Since retirement, we have done a lot of traveling in our new RV. We have found that our lifestyle is very popular among baby boomers our age. We have met a lot of very nice and interesting people during our travels and hope to meet many more. A lot of retired couples tend to settle on a particular RV park and go no where else. But we are very adventurous and like to see new things and new faces.
RV parks are being built everywhere. Branson RV parks and campgrounds have popped up like mushrooms. We always enjoy going there because of the great entertainment offered in the theatres. Disney World RV parking is also quite nice. You are never too old to enjoy Disney World.
We also like to get away to the more secluded areas like the Colorado River RV parks. The Colorado River is so beautiful any time of the year. I think one of my favorites was the Pioneer Resorts and RV park. Our neighbors there sure could cook. We partook of Bison steaks and fresh corn one evening that was superb.
The great thing about traveling to different locations is the variety of food that you find. You can find Mexican food at RV parks in Lubbock Texas, great wines at RV parks in Southern California, and seafood at the Sun City Florida RV parks.
RV parks have kept up with the times also. You can find RV parks with internet in a lot of areas. This is great for those who like to keep in touch with family by means of email. We can keep track of our investments and can even pay bills over the internet. This gives us more freedom to travel.
We hope to see the entire United States and meet as many people as we can while we still have our good health. I is a real blessing to be able to do this and we are very thankful.
